Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2 has now started streaming internationally on Netflix, and the film has reportedly created massive buzz in Pakistan right after its release.
Interestingly, when the first part of the film was released, it was banned in Pakistani theatres because it portrayed the terrorist network operating in Karachi’s Lyari area. Despite the ban, the movie became the number one trending title on OTT platforms in Pakistan.
Now, excitement for the sequel had reached such a high level among Pakistani audiences that, according to reports, Netflix servers allegedly crashed due to heavy traffic as soon as the film went live at midnight. Several local Pakistani content creators also claimed the same on social media.
Pakistani content creator Mavia Umar Farooqui shared a video online, claiming that the moment Dhurandhar 2 was uploaded on Netflix at 12 AM, the platform experienced a sudden surge in traffic, causing Netflix to go down temporarily.
Although the first film was labeled as “propaganda” and was not allowed to release in Pakistani cinemas, the audience there reportedly remained highly interested in the franchise. Fans were eagerly waiting for the extended and uncut version of the sequel.
